Oil Analysis

An offshore oil and gas operation needed a bespoke Laboratory Information Management System — purpose-built for oil analysis, sample tracking, and real-time monitoring.

The project began with UX research: understanding how technicians work in the field, what data they need at a glance, and where existing systems were failing them. Wireframes and prototypes were tested before any production code was written.

The application was built using Vue 3 on the frontend and Node.js on the backend — chosen for their performance and ability to handle live data updates. The interface was designed to operate effectively under offshore constraints: fast-loading, clearly structured, and easy to navigate with limited connectivity.

Deliverables: UX research, user flows, wireframes, UI design system, Vue 3 frontend, Node.js backend API, real-time monitoring dashboard, sample tracking module, and PDF reporting.
